Hi everyone and welcome back!

Question? When was the last time you just let go and freed your inner child?

The other week when I was back in Sydney chilling out with some of best friends I did something I haven’t done in years! I got on a swing and I must say it was exhilarating and awesome!

‘Flashback and rewind’ to the early 1980’s the time when young innocents were upon me and the smallest of things made me so happy. My daddy bought me a swing and as you can see I loved it. I would spend hours on it giggling, smiling, singing and yelling away (I may have been a loud child at times!) ha ha ha…

‘Flash-forward to the present’ At the moment I’m going through stressful times so I went to Sydney to be around my fabulous support network. One night after my friend’s husband and kids went to bed we got to talking, and I completely broke down. The tears started flowing leading to crying (loudly I might add) all the while the cat just rolled its eyes at me thinking here she goes again!

The next morning, I awoke to the cheeky cute munchkin little Mr K next to me on the lounge. He was being silly on the furniture and fell face first into the table splitting his head open. The poor little munchkin! Drama, drama, drama what a way to start the day!

But later, after the drama had settled he decided it was scooting and park time! So off we went on a little adventure, he scooted as we walked heading towards the park. 

Even though his poor little head was hurting he didn’t let that stop him spending time going up and down the slippery slide. Then came the swings. He was so happy and laughing on the swings, I thought to myself WHY NOT? I SHOULD DO THIS TOO!

So, I got on that swing and laughed and laughed I felt so free it was invigorating! Swinging away without a care in the world just laughing and having fun with the little munchkin. My friend said it was great to see me smile again! And I must say for that brief moment, I forgot about my problems and just went back to being a child again.

 

So what does the ‘Big 3’ Stress Solutions Puzzle look like when it comes to How to Release Stress and Have Fun Through Childhood Memories?

 

In today’s face paced world we can be so focused on working, running errands, cooking, cleaning, getting the kids organised, paying bills and doing all those adult things we’ve forgot to be kids ourselves and have fun. We can be so busy making sure the kids are having fun we forget it’s important to enjoy time ourselves!!

When I’m going through hard times I find it very beneficial to remember back to a time when I was happy and what made me happy. I do this because I know it’s a formula that works! Look at what can make a child laugh and be happy, then think back to your childhood. Did those same things make you happy too?

Being silly and letting go of the constraints of what’s deemed ‘age appropriate’ dictated by today’s society is very freeing! I mean here I am at 38 being a big kid on a swing and having a great time. I don’t care what people think. Life is too short not to allow ourselves the simplest of pleasures.

Remember my motto for positive change is ‘Little Puzzle Pieces Create a Big Picture’…Happiness is free and getting on a swing might be just the thing to make you laugh and feel happy.

So, get on that swing and start having fun, and even sing out loud if you want to! Go and do what you want to do and be free and happy!
