C32’s Hydrating Hormone Balancing Stress Reducing Super Smoothie!
- 1 small Banana
- 2 Activated Charcoal tablets
- 1 teaspoon Organic *Maca Powder
- 1 tablespoon Raw Organic cocoa powder (more/less to taste)
- 1 or 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds
- 1 teaspoons of Raw Organic Honey
- 400mls of Coconut water (add more/less to taste)
This makes 1 smoothie – and if you don’t like coconut water try a dairy free alternative nut/rice milk (no soy).
*Maca shouldn’t be consumed daily without taking a few days off. I don’t have this smoothie every day but if I was going to then I would do 3 weeks with Maca and 1 week without the Maca.
So what does ‘The Big 3’ Stress Management Puzzle look like when it comes to The C32 Hydrating, Hormone Balancing, Stress Reducing Super Smoothie!
For me personally, this smoothie has been a GAME CHANGER! I’ve suffered on and off with anxiety, depression, lack of energy and hormone irregularities. When consumed often this smoothie has helped me with these issues.
When I’m traveling and can’t have my smoothie I do notice a difference in my overall health (this also includes not getting my veg smoothies/juices as well).
When I give my body the nutrition it needs it’s happy therefore I’m happy! It’s about finding your yin yang balance on what works for you….and for me this smoothie is key!

Bananas are high in antioxidants, magnesium and vitamins C, as well as tryptophan that converts into serotonin = mood boosting! Plus, the fiber helps keep you regular which is very important to help remove some environmental stress particles from your colon. Vitamin B6 helps weight loss, your nervous system, reduce swelling, production of white blood cells and can protect against developing type-2 diabetes. The Vitamin A in bananas is essential for your eye health.
I love that this is healthy for you! It’s important to consume flavonoids as they reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and stroke, and cocoa powder is a rich source. This means it can help reduce the LDL cholesterol (bad), regulate high blood pressure and fight inflammation. Although cocoa powder is less effective than cocao it still helps the body as it’s magnesium rich, iron rich and most importantly it’s neurotransmitters make us happy!
For me this powerful root from Peru has been a game changer! Maca helps regulate your hormones, PMS, menopause, increases your fertility and sexual health and most importantly eases anxiety and depression. Males also get the benefits with improved sperm count, increase fertility and improve sexual dysfunction/libido. It gives you energy, improves your mood and help your memory and is an antioxidant booster. Maca contains Vitamins B1 and B2, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper, Zinc, Manganese, Phosphorous, Selenium, Sulphur, Sodium and Iron.
Raw organic honey has many health healing properties due to antioxidants and enzymes it contains. The minerals including iron, zinc, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and selenium. The vitamins include vitamin B6, thiamin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and niacin.
Note: Make sure you are using Raw Organic Honey – not the supermarket honey that’s been heat processed and mixed with high fructose corn syrup and or blended with Chinese Honey as this ‘honey’ has lost its beneficial properties and contains contaminants that might have a negative effect on your health long term.
Chia Seeds are classed as a Super food for good reason. They contain Dietary fiber, Protein, Omega-3 fatty acids, Omega-6 fatty acids, Calcium, Copper, Phosphorus, Potassium, and Zinc. They also contain essential fatty acids alpha-linolenic and linoleic acid, strontium, mucin and Vitamins A, B, E, and D. Their mineral content contains iron, iodine, Sulphur, magnesium, niacin, thiamine and they are rich in antioxidants. They help anti-aging, Digestion, Heart health, Diabetes, Increase Energy and Metabolism, Bone Strength, Build Muscle, Fight Cancers, and Dental health. These little guys really pack a punch!
There are mixed opinions about coconut water, however, I really like it, therefore I drink it! And I believe coconut water in moderation is good for me. The health benefits including electrolytes, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, whilst helping the body flush away environmental stress and, the magnesium helps relieve muscle tension. Coconut water contains Vitamins B6 and B12, Vitamin C, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Folate, Pantothenic Acid, Choline, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper, Zinc, Phosphorous, Sodium, Manganese and Selenium.
Yes, that’s right charcoal! I’ve been used activated charcoal for a few years now and I swear by it. With all the traveling I do, I don’t leave home without it! It helps relieve gas and bloating in the stomach or if you have diarrhea from food poisoning. It can also be beneficial for alcohol poisoning (and I put it in smoothies when I have a hangover). Because I live in a tropical mouldy environment (environmental stress) I take activated charcoal for that as well. For all the health benefits click on the link and check it out. Note I do not take it all the time.
Remember my motto for positive change is ‘Little Puzzle Pieces Create a Big Picture’… Healthy food that improves your mood, energy, brain health, physical health and overall wellbeing is a great way to rid yourself of anxiety and depression (well it’s been helping me). In order to live our best lives, we need to be happy and healthy which you can achieve when taking small positive steps and making changes. I think this is key to living our best lives.
Until next time be thoughtful, be mindful, be present. This is Character 32 doing her best to help you!
