What is love? How do we know if we are in love? Does love really conquer all?
The layers of ‘Love’ run deep through our souls making us feel everything imaginable! You can’t eat, sleep or breathe without thinking about that person, they’re even in your dreams!
‘Love’ is the word that can be thrown around light-heartedly or have a profound in-depth meaning. Depending on the place, situation or subject matter ‘Love’ can mean many different things.
I can ‘Love’ material items where I’ll have that ‘Oh my Prada moment’ because I ‘Love’ those shoes! or I’ll say “Don’t you just ‘Love’ that?” referencing an outfit, architecture, painting, or something meaning WOW that’s great! We have emotional ‘Love’ for family and friends. And ‘Love’ for oneself is important too, otherwise, how can we truly ‘Love’ another right? And the other times is when ‘LOVE’ takes on another deeper meaning… Finding ‘The One’ who you want to spend the rest of your life. These are both terrifying and exciting times.
What is love like? What is true love?
When you first fall in ‘Love’ with someone you’ll experience both immense pain and great joy. It hurts when you are apart and you feel ecstasy when together… Your every waking thought will be consumed by thoughts of them. Every minute without them is filled with the anticipate and excitement of seeing them again.
In my experience, real ‘Love’ can hurt like hell! At times, I’ve been thrown into a depth of pain and emotional stress that could send the sanest person to the brink of insanity. Other times I’ve felt joy beyond my wildest dreams like I could conquer the world!
Finding ‘Love’ in this world can be hard, we all as humans crave it and need it. So, when you find that someone special hold on to them and embrace it with open arms. Want to know what ‘Love’ looks like? Well here it is!
How You Know You Love Someone
- True ‘Love’ hurts at times (depending on circumstances you can’t eat, sleep or feel like you can breathe!)
- They make you laugh, cry, and feel alive
- You can look at each other without saying a word and feel the connection
- They are on your mind and in your thoughts, constantly
- When they enter the room your heart skips a beat
- You want to be around them all the time
- The thought of losing them is too much to bare
- You want to spend the rest of your life with them
- You will move to another country for them
- You would change your job (work colleagues/bosses being an issue)
- Mutual respect is a given
- They are easy to talk to and you can be open with them
- There are no games or manipulations just openness
- You will want to do things for them
‘Love’ is supporting and unconditional
What is love all about?
I think true ‘Love’ is open, honest, raw and real and you show each other how you feel. There’s no playing games or manipulation. It’s about being able to trust, confide and show each other mutual respect, that’s what true ‘Love’ is all about.

‘Love’ can drive you crazy, make you do crazy things, not act yourself, lose your mind, and quite frankly send you nuts! When you feel passionately about someone where there’s the strong connection, it can take control over your rational thought process. This is because you are so caught up in a world of emotions you don’t know what to do next! Are you going to laugh, cry for jump of joy? Who knows? But you find their touch electric, melt when they smile and their presence makes you happy!
When you find ‘The One’ who makes you feel alive hold on to them and cherish it, finding this type of ‘LOVE’ is rare. It’s even more magical if you speak the same ‘Love Language’ (blog post below).
