It’s a new year and a new start however I strongly dislike the term ‘New Year’s Resolutions’. I prefer to think of as a fresh start to the new year where the past is behind us and we focus on the future. Sounds better don’t you think?
This is part 1 of 3 of my ‘positive series’ where today we start the day on a more positive note. I don’t like being overwhelmed with new routines therefore, I find baby steps are key to successful changes.
‘Flashback’ – for many years, I woke up unhappy, grumpy, miserable and angry with the world, not realising it was ‘stress’ related. I was upset, hurting, and felt completely alone to name but a few emotions. I didn’t appreciate my life or those I had around me.
‘Fast Forward to the Present’ - In hindsight it was a wasted redundant emotion because I focused on all the bad, instead of focusing on the good. But you know what they say ‘Making mistakes and experiencing hard times is how we learn and grow’.
I empowered myself by discovering my mind is the most powerful thing I own. It requires respect and control all at the same time. Doing positive reinforcement exercising for the brain can be a focal key point to overall mental wellbeing. Therefore, it’s imperative to start the day on a positive note.
Here’s an easy, quick and simple brain exercise I do to start my day in a positive way!
Think 3 Thoughts of Happiness and Positivity when you wake up
When your feet touch the floor first thing in the morning (or when you wake up) think of 3 things to be grateful for. They can be anything you like:
- People you have in your life
- Waking up next to the person you love
- Love where you are living
- Happy you have children
- Things you are looking forward to (even as small as a new movie or book coming out)
- Social events coming up
- Travel destinations
- Your health
- You had a great night’s sleep
- You woke up (not everyone does)
- Something you’ve been working towards that motivates you
- Things you’ve accomplished that you feel proud of
There are no rules here! It can be anything positive you like just make sure it’s a minimum of 3! Whether it’s a something you’re grateful for, looking forward to, excited about, what makes you happy, it doesn’t matter just as long as it’s a positive though #thinkhappy
So what does the ‘Big 3’ Stress Solutions Puzzle look like when it comes to How 3 Thoughts of Happiness and Positivity Are Key to Your Success?
What do you find when you’re around successful people? Are they more positive people? Do they allow Emotional stress to overrun and control their lives?
When you think positively you can approach emotional stress differently (most of the time!).
Emotional stress is a real thing. Our fast-paced stressful lives can make us forget about our health. Therefore, I refuse to live unhappily and stressed that’s why I ‘boss’ away negative thoughts.
‘Brain Training’ every day is the key to success. The more I ‘boss’ my brain and tell it what I want it to do the more it responds and complies (well most of the time!) ha ha ha…
The point of this small exercise is to get your brain into a positive mind pattern first thing in the morning. This allows the positive mindset to keep ‘flowing’ through out the day. This is one of the key components to success, just ask successful people.
Remebmer my motto for positive change is ‘Little Puzzle Pieces Create a Big Picture’… Every time we make positive changes we reduce the ‘Big 3’ stressors. Happiness is only a thought away.
The power of 3 will set you free!
Until next time be thoughtful, be mindful, be present. This is Character 32 doing her best to help you!
