When my husband’s work sent out the itinerary for the cruise we discovered there was a ‘strict’ Black Tie Dinner on the schedule. I’d never attended a Black Tie Dinner before so I was a little bit stumped on what to wear!
Finally, after shopping high and low I came across this dress from L.K.Bennett which fit the ‘Black Tie’ dress code! I love the hint of white on the front and the hidden white panel on the slit which shows when you walk. I paired it with a pair of black high heels and a small black clutch.
Black Tie Dress Code Rules Woman
Nothing above knee length under any circumstances! The dress must be ¾ or full length, this is not negotiable. Most of the time the dress colour will either be striking or dark colours such as navy blue or black. Think bold and beautiful mixed with elegance and style, like what you would see on the Red Carpet in Hollywood.
Black Tie Dress Code Rules Men
You can wear a Black or Midnight Blue Tuxedo (normal everyday work suits are not allowed!). Bow tie with the option of a pocket square and/or cummerbund if you want to dress it up a little more. Here’s how good the guys looked, they were styling!!
Attending a Black Tie Event is fun because I love to get dressed up! As you can see this dress from L.K.Bennett really hit the mark. This is what true Black Tie looks like! And sometimes it pays not to take life to seriously and grab a few silly shots of yourselves along the way! Ha ha ha #sillyisgood
Until next time Live style. Live spirit. Live soul. This is Character 32 doing her best to help you!
