My Hermes Cashmere Scarf Was Love at First Sight

What do you do when you are walking past the Hermes store and you hear your name being called by the scarf in the window? Do you keep walking ignoring the call or does your curious side relent and walk in for further investigation?

We were in London for a few days due to my husband’s work commitments and somehow I ended up on New Bond Street (how convenient?)  I was in a relaxed and happy mood as we’d just been out for bunch catching up with a friend and enjoyed a few really great Bloody Marys.

Firstly, we had done a spot of shopping for my husband at Smythson as he desperately needed to replace his well-worn Ralph Lauren leather wallet. Then we continued walking the street until we reached ‘The Big Hitters’ aka Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior and Hermes.

As I’m walking past Hermes and I see this scarf on display in the window and it’s calling my name C32, C32 come over here C32.

So with that, I wandered over for closer inspection and decided it was time to take action. Without hesitation, I walked into the store and asked for the scarf so I could try it on.

Within 1 second I was in love, it was warm, comfortable, and most importantly it looked fabulous! Yes, yes and yes this had to be mine! So it turns out my husband bought my 11th wedding anniversary present a little earlier this year as we both agreed it was beautiful.

The two tone colour combination of cashmere in black and brown is a classic which will not date and can be worn with most other colours. It looks great with a pair of jeans and some boots which are what I was wearing at the time I tried it on.

Here I’m wearing it in Antwerp on one of my many C32 Globetrotting adventures. I’ve paired it with my Mui Mui Maroon long sleeve top, my Ralph Lauren Bag, with a pair of black pants, Hunter boots, my signature Morgenthal Frederics Sunglasses, cream cashmere beret and tiger eye crystal ring.

My shopping experience was all the more enjoyable because the sales guy was fantastic! He had the right amount of charisma and was friendly without being pushy or snotty (take note Hermes Paris on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré where you will not acknowledge me!).

His product knowledge was excellent (of course it would be) however I didn’t feel rushed into my purchase. Therefore, it allowed me to ask questions about their Birkin Bags as I wanted to know more about them (maybe one day I might buy one?).

And because the sales guy was so fantastic it made my shopping experience all the more pleasurable. At the end of the day, when you are spending this kind of money you need to enjoy the total experience.

Until next time Live style. Live spirit. Live soul. This is Character 32 doing her best to help you!
