Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT)
Not all airlines check in at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) for example I was flying with Virgin Australia so I had to check in at Terminal 3 and walk to the TBIT which is only a 2 minute walk. You can walk between terminals at LAX it’s not that far (although I’m fit and young). But I would like to think most people can walk between them. It’s easy to find your airline terminal it’s hard to miss it. The airlines flying out of each terminal are signed at the terminal. I do however always recommend you know your terminal before getting to the airport.
Allow yourself plenty of time to 1. Get to the airport because LA traffic can be a nightmare!! 2. Getting through security can be a long wait and take forever! And I do mean forever so just be prepared and give yourself lots of time.
One the upside the make over of the Tom Bradley International Terminal looks fantastic, they have done a great job. Now it’s on par with our international terminals globally.
You can get free wifi at LAX airport. The only annoying thing is you need to sign in every 45 minutes. But on the upside there’s free wifi which is great for us travellers needed to reconnect with the world (social media hello!) ha ha ha
The airline lounges are located on the 5th and 6th floor in the terminal. Once you walk through security and into the main terminal they are located via a lift to your left hand side. You will find One World lounges on the 5th floor and Star Alliance on the 6th floor.
Food and drinks
There’s a food court in the middle of the terminal as well as other eateries around the sides. There’s a Starbucks for coffee and a champagne bar if you require something a little stronger!! Ha ha ha Although note the sushi bar puts MSG into their food?!? So, if you are not into MSG (like me!) then it’s best to avoid their food. I ate some Mexican in the food court area and then a few hours later had some bubbles and nibbles at Vino Volo.
Duty Free Shopping
You can shop here without too many problems for all your duty-free shopping needs. There’s even a Hermes, Burberry and Gucci if you’re looking for some designer things.
Charging Stations and Working locations
There’s a large spread out section where you can work away and charge your devises as you watch the planes and world go by. The view is great (well I think it is!)…
My Overview of Tom Bradley International Terminal
It’s been years since I flew out of LA making this new updated terminal a very pleasant change (you should have seen the old one!!!). Note the prices of food are expensive but what else can you do? Note being a gluten free vegetarian will be difficult for you! Here is a map of the terminal for you below.
Until next time I travel, I see, I share... This is Character 32 doing her best to help you!
