New York Clothing Stores in Midtown Manhattan

I’ve shopped till I’ve dropped or until the credit card started to burn, in this city on many occasions! It’s always such a wonderful place to find everything you’re looking for. One thing I love is these stores have awesome shoe sections where your shoe addiction can be filled! *Note I don’t list all the designer brands because a lot of them carry the same ones.

I’ve listed these in order of location so you can start either end and work your way up or down Manhattan. This way you save time and it’s an efficient way to shop! I’ve even put the map for you at the end of this blog.

Saks off 5th New York City

Even though I do love a good shopping session at Saks 5th Ave I will also pay a visit to their discount ‘clearance’ store. Here is where I go to look for shoes and on the odd occasion I will score a big bargain! Check out the price I picked up these Manolos for they were $745 down to $266.99 + tax that’s a great discount, right?  Although you’re not guaranteed to always find a bargain as good as this, you can get lucky.

They are so many clothes on offer as well as beauty products and don’t worry there are plenty of men’s clothing and shoes too. There’s something here for everyone, hope you find a bargain or two!

Bloomingdale’s Manhattan Lexington Ave

Check out how beautiful this store is! Their shoe department isn’t as big as some of the other stores but it’s amazing interior design more than makes up for it!  You will find the high-end hitters here to like Louis Vuitton and Stuart Weitzman. There’s even a Magnolia Bakery in there which is pretty cool! I purchased an amazing set of Ralph Lauren bedding here which I love, it was a few years ago now!

Location: 1000 Third Avenue 59th Street and Lexington Avenue New York

Barneys New York Madison Avenue flagship store

I like this store because it’s spacious and has a great vibe, It’s generally the new money crowd here giving it a young, hip and happening kind of feeling as you walk around the store.

Here’s where you find a boutique Goyard when you enter the store on the left-hand side. The shoe area is spacious and houses many high-end brands like Manolo, Prada, Christian Louboutin, and so on. There are so many designer brands all under this roof, it’s going to take you a while to see everything.

Location: 660 Madison Avenue, New York

Bergdorf Goodman

This store is generally more of the old money crowd and it’s a little tighter to get around. It doesn’t feel as spacious but the shoe collection is good. I purchased one of my favourite Prada bags from here back in 2009! You will also Goyard here as well. Why do I keep mentioning Goyard? Because it’s a more exclusive brand with few locations globally making it harder to find than Louis Vuitton (Louis Vuitton was trained by Goyard).

Saks Fifth Ave

For the love of shoes, this place is the ultimate shoe heaven! I love, love, love, shoe shopping here it’s my favourite shoe shopping store in Manhattan. This last trip to NYC I purchased a pair of Gianvito Rossi on sale which I love!

That being said there’s also a lot of things on offer here. I bought my Chanel sunglasses here back in June 2010 and the shopping experience was great. They have a large selection of high-end designer clothes too.

The only downside to this store is the beauty section, it’s a little dark for me, I personally prefer a little more light.

Location: 611 Fifth Avenue, New York

Come one come all this is a massive department store so get ready and be prepared you could be here for a while! You might also get lost but that’s okay there are multiple eating places within the store so you will be okay ha ha ha.

The crowds flock here and it’s ‘tourist-ville! Here you can get a 10% discount if you’re a tourist, just show them your passport or drivers license to prove you don’t live there, and they’ll give you a card to use on your shopping purchases. I’ve purchased a lot of stuff here over the years so that discount came in handy!
