This new spacious and architectural masterpiece building is a must see if you are downtown! I love walking around this building there’s just something about it which is awesome. And Downtown Manhattan is where everything new and exciting is happening!
‘Flashback’ to the movie ‘Back to the Future 2’ when I’m on the escalators I feel like I’m being transported ‘back’ to that movie. The safety announcements saying things like ‘hold onto the rails’ sound exactly the same as the movie! It’s quite eerie really but in a good way, it’s hard for me to describe, although I’ll say it’s somewhat familiar? Anyway, when you’re there you will see what I mean… it’s pretty cool actually!
Shopping in Westfield World Trade Center Oculus
No matter what you like in the shopping department I’m sure there’s something here on offer for you. It’s got many shops under the massive dome structure or you can walk around and weave your way through the other corridors which link up to the Oculus and discover all the other shops on offer.
You will find a mixed range of shops from Kate Spade New York, L.K.Bennett, Reiss, Smythson, Apple Store, Stuart Weitzman, Aldo, Banana Republic, Aesop, COS and many many more! Here is the list…
Stop, take a break and rest your feet as you recharge your body with some awesome food and drink on offer. There are many eating places such as Buttercup Bake Shop, Joe and the Juice, Island of Treats, Breads Bakery, Beer Table, Market Lane, Pret A Manger, Lobster Press, Shake Shack and many more, but my favourite would have to be Eataly located on level 3 which is out of this world awesome!
Location: 85 Greenwich St, New York
My Overview of Westfield World Trade Center Oculus
Personally, I think the architect Santiago Calatrava has done an incredible job on the design of this building. And based on the number of tourists flocking here to see this building, I would say others agree too, even though some critics have given it some unfavourable reviews. I personally love it and think it’s architectural genius at its best (but that’s just me). Having so much natural light flowing into the shopping center makes me enjoy being in this space more, therefore my shopping experience is made all the more pleasurable.
There’s plenty of shopping and eating on offer too. So, do yourself a favour and check this awesome building out. Even if you don’t ‘need’ to go shopping, you need to check this place out! It’s like a shopping center of the future from ‘Back to the Future’! ha ha ha
*Opposite Oculus – Westfield you will find the discount department store Century 21. Another very handy tip is you can also access the other shopping center call Brookfield Place via the PATH underground subway.
Until next time I travel, I see, I share... This is Character 32 doing her best to help you!
