The Annual Sculpture by the Sea Exhibition at Cottesloe Beach in Perth

Hi everyone!

When I visit my close friend in Perth I’m lucky because she’s always taking me to great places. I never know where I’ll end up and what I’m going to see…..that’s the exciting thing about travel and having a friend in the know!

Back in March 2015 without releasing my timing on that trip, I was fortunate enough to check out the Art walk in Perth known as Sculpture by the Sea. This annual exhibition is held in March on the beautiful Cottesloe Beach. And as you can see by my photos it’s a must check out event if you’re in Perth.

This year the 13th Annual Cottesloe Exhibition of Sculpture by the Sea will be held between 3-20 March 2017.

My photos were taken back in March 2015 and as you can see there’s something here for everyone. This exhibition is so fantastic it draws a large crowd every year.

Each year artists put their sculptures on display all around the beach, foreshore and jetty, which spans from the sea wall towards North Cottesloe.

When you see this exhibition in real life it allows you to see how much detail the artists put into their work.  Plus, you have the added bonus of seeing the sculptures from different angles. For example, here I’m showing you both views of the front and the back.

These stunning works of art on display are truly worth checking out. Plus, you can to enjoy being around the fresh sea breeze, walk along the beach whilst immersing yourself in the culture and enjoying the sun! It’s the perfect place to be…

After you’ve finished the art walk you’ll find a great Italian restaurant called Il Lido, which is located opposite the beach.

Here you can relax and unwind with one of their many fabulous wines on offer or enjoy a beer or two, that’s up to you! If cocktails are your thing or you need a coffee to recharge your batteries, they can do that too!

Discuss your thoughts on the exhibition over a nice meal. Follow that up with a dessert and another wine…. Sounds like a great way to enjoy your day wouldn’t you say?

The owner has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and managed some of the most prestigious venues in Perth. Their sommelier has worked for very prestigious venues between Sydney and Perth as well. Between these two guys, you’ll be sure to find a nice drop that you’ll love.

Location: 88 Marine Parade, Cottesloe WA 6011, Australia
